Finding your Bliss: What's your Vision?

This week, I wanted to share a few ideas to help you get started on your journey. If you are just visiting here for the first time, you can check out the meditations from the past few weeks or just dive in now. It may help to get clear and center your intention before starting.

Relaxing Into Meditation

Why is it so hard to meditate?

What is the BLISS factor?

Tip #1 : Create a Vision Board

A vision board is a creative visualization tool which is created by arranging a meaningful collage of words and pictures on a poster board, canvas, or other material to define your intentions, goals, affirmations, or dreams. Creating a vision board is both a powerful and easy way to remind yourself of your goals and develop mindfulness. It helps to create a board once a year or for a specific goal. Then put it in a place that you are sure you will look at it once if not multiple times per day. Allow your eyes to land where they will and keep this thought or image top of mind for the day. Each day allow yourself to bring your focus inward concentrating on whatever grabs your attention from the board.

Tip #2 : Make a Mantra

A mantra is a personal statement or affirmation. A mantra is a single phrase that defines a hero, business, or product. Guy Kawasaki, author of Art of the Start, recommends mantra instead of mission and suggests looking at successful brands to help you put your mantra into context.

Federal Express: “Peace of mind”
Nike: “Authentic athletic performance”
Target: “Democratize design”
Mary Kay “Enriching women’s lives”

Superheroes: “With great power comes great responsibility.”

Superheroes:  “Fighting for Truth, Freedom, and Justice.”

Tip # 3 : Write your Story

Just start writing. No need to edit or think about your audience. Think about how your story relates to your vision and your mantra.

The story you might write will revolve around your current desires or goals and what made you realize that this is what you are supposed to do.

The story you might write will uncover your passion as you put it into a relate-able context.

Tip # 4 : Share your Story

You already worked up the courage to write your story, so why not share it now by making it actionable. Move that much closer to your vision.
