Ten Minute Balance using Insights

This week tune into yourself and look at areas of your life that are both in and out of balance. Our body is made up of energy centers called chakras or wheels in sanskrit. When these areas our out of balance both weakened and over-used we can find ourselves feeling burned out, exhausted, sick or hyper. Tuning in is a process of understanding the subtle signs and insights that our body is alerting us too.

Tune into your physical, emotional, and mental self through mindful awareness this week. Take notice and observe whether your life feels balanced right now or if there are areas that you can work on. For example if you talk all day or are constantly on the move, it may help to balance yourself with quiet meditation. Or you may find yourself to be very quiet and need to try some energetic exercise or spend time interacting with others.

Do you tend to use any of the phrases in the chart below in your daily speech? For instance, do you feel fuzzy and misunderstood? Maybe you don’t speak or see situations clearly? Try balancing yourself with a few simple exercises. Ultimately the goal is to be balanced in all areas, but it is also completely normal to find ourselves out of balance. Having a regular meditation, yoga, and mindfulness practice can help us to re-align ourselves so we can stay aware of the things that take us out of balance.

These are just a few examples of the many poses you can try. Always try modifications and resist pushing to your edge if you are experiencing pain or injury in your physical, mental and emotional body. Work with an experienced teacher or guide when in doubt.
